"Land of the Lost" : Did they ever leave?

If you were a child in the 70's and remember Saturday morning television, then you knew that Krofft themed shows were the grooviest! One of the most solid and memorable of all of their Saturday morning line up shows was "Land of the Lost" that told the tale of a family lost in time trying to get back to present day all the while surviving with dinosaurs, Paku, and Sleestaks! Show Details: Land of the Lost details the adventures of the Marshall family (father Rick, and his children Will and Holly) who are trapped in an alternate universe inhabited by dinosaurs, a primate-type people called Pakuni, and aggressive humanoid/lizard creatures called Sleestak. The episode story lines focus on the family's efforts to survive and find a way back to their own world, but the exploration of the exotic inhabitants of the Land of the Lost is also an ongoing part of the story. 70's Obscurities: "Mulligan Stew" 1972

Decided to do a few blogs about some obscure 70's television shows from my childhood. The kind of show that only aired a few episodes before disappearing into obscurity for ever. The kind that only comes up in "remember when" conversations, and then someone goes "oh yeah, I remember that show" and before long you are all singing the theme song and wondering what happened to the stars of that show, did they go on to other things or spiral down the dark path of teen TV history.... Mulligan Stew was shown on PBS stations, it was a children's educational program, sponsored by the 4-H Council and shown both in schools and on television. It was produced by Michigan State University, and premiered in 1972 during National 4-H Week in Washington D.C. The show was named for the hobo dish (and also for the initials of M ichigan S tate), and each of the six half-hour episodes gave school-age children information about nutrition. Produced by V. Eureka Springs trip day 3

Today was the last day of our mini vacation, and I really must say even though we were headed home we actually made time for a few stops along the way. I started out the day bright and early, and we actually had breakfast down in the restaurant at the hotel. The guys joined a shortly thereafter and we all finished at the same time and we were off, to get our rooms packed up before check out time. We loaded up the jeep and headed to a little Christmas store right outside of town. as we pulled in I noticed a look out tower, guessing around 200 ft up. with all honesty, a couple of years ago you wouldn't have gotten me to climb even past the second set of stairs before returning back down. not anymore though and so we hit the steps and climbed to the top without hesitation, and once we got up there, the view was incredible to say the least. the fall colors are still around on so many trees, and that was just as more awesome seeing them from the top of this tower. ...
