year end review

Well here I sit at my new computer on this first day of the new year, still contemplating new things to talk about for whomever is willing enough to click on the link to view the blog. What better way to start off a solid blog year than with a year end review.   2012 was a pretty good year, I really don't have too many complaints at all. I am ashamed at myself for slacking off with my daily entries here, I don't really know how many people actually read my ramblings, but in all actuality its not my concern, since I am basically writing to amuse myself mostly, with a slight wishing that I am amusing others as well.   I have decided that since today is the start of a new year, I would once again return to my daily entries hopefully I can stick with it and be consistent, have such a bad habit of saying, "oh I will post later" and later comes and goes and then its midnight and the new day has begun.

Friends come and friends go:
2012 saw some break ups with some friends and their relationships, really is sad to see couples you like part ways, you wonder who did what to who? you think why did that happen, you were so happy, but you need to know the stories behind the faces to find out what happened, and as hard as it may be to see friends you know separate from each other, there is always a reason for it, and things have a tendency to work out for the best for all parties involved.  2012 was also a year of ending friendships, some people removed themselves from my life and others I removed. I had friendships change dramatically to the point of saying is it really worth it to be friends? examining the friendship more closely you find out that it's not, again it's sad but always for a reason,  and the best thing to do is  to move on to what the future has in store for you.

Lake Season 2012:
The 2012 lake season was definitely a hot one! this summer saw the worst drought in 75 years, and everyone was affected. due to the extremely mild winter we experienced, the lake water levels dropped dramatically over the summer months, combine that with the incredibly hot triple digit temperatures and it makes for a roasting summer. we got several projects done this year at the lake,  however it was so hot that this year we hardly invited anyone down, it was so blistering hot, you couldn't enjoy it. The lake season was ended early this year due to a busy social calendar the months of October and November...

Coaster Trip: Adventures abound:
The biggest highlight of my entire year was the big coaster trip I took. it was a much needed getaway, that I worked hard to save for all year long. it was the first big trip I had taken in quite a while and really was so worth it. we hit 7 states, around 10 parks in 12 days, and a total of 82 roller coasters that I can say I rode every single one of them. I met some wonderful friends on the trip, some of whom I now keep in touch with and interact with on Facebook on a regular basis.  I met people from other parts of the country, as well as a couple from other countries. I truly walked away with so many new memories, it was so hard to say goodbye to some of the people I met and others I was so glad to get away from, funny how you can bond with people in such a short time,  guess from spending so much time together it just happens. would I do another trip? sure, it was a pricey trip, not something I would do every year though.  I initially was planning on doing another trip next year, but after lots of thinking I just figured I would wait a year, then do another trip after that. besides, the one trip I was considering, goes to parks that I have already visited, and I really don't want to pay for parks I have already been to,. this years trip, every park was a new experience for me, so it worked out perfectly.

Fall / Winter:
The fall and the winter of 2012 was extremely packed with tons of meet ups with friends, dinner dates, parties and of course the holiday extravaganza's for the season, I took my annual Christmas vacation to Branson Missouri and Silver Dollar city, it was the 4th year for the trip and had one of the best times yet. a few months will pass before I start organizing the trip, don't know who is on the list to go for this years trip, so its always open for suggestions. I will be visiting the park early in the season for the opening of their new record breaking coaster, and I hope to take a group of peeps along with me for the enjoyment.  Christmas 2012 was one of the busiest ones I have had in a long time, I can't think of when I ever decorated the house for 14 days, ( took that long to decorate) we just kept adding and adding stuff. we put more lights out in the front yard than we have ever had before, and it was a complete hoot and a success with our friends and neighbors on the street. I also saw more lights than ever before in our neighborhood which was a nice addition to the Christmas season and generating cheer and spirit.

2013 outlook:
I am looking to accomplishing several things this year, first and foremost is to eliminate any debt remaining on cards, I haven't been using them and the numbers are going down, but still have some serious planning and working to do.  I am not doing any big coaster trips however I am planning on taking a couple of smaller ones. I plan on meeting up with the coaster tour this summer at one or more of their planned stops so that I can say hey to some friends and try and catch up a little better than how we do on Facebook. I am planning on getting my Spanish studies in full swing, via working with all my software and doing the assorted workbooks. I slacked off a few weeks because of Christmas, but now the new year is on, I must assert myself to kicking some Spanish butt and getting the language down, I really enjoy learning it, will be nice to actually communicate with friends that speak the language.
